Power Cores Change Your Skills

Every Artefact in Starforged Ascendant has a Power Socket.

Every Artefact in Starforged Ascendant has a Power Socket.

That socket holds a Power Core, and the Core changes how the Skill attached to that Artefact behaves in combat.

The five Power Core families in Starforged Ascendant

There are five Power types:

Fossil, Organic, Solar, Zero Point and Fission.

Each has its own damage type and combat identity.

Fossil

Fossil is tied to Kinetic damage and physical control.

A successful hostile hit can add a short Stun, making Fossil useful for Skills that already connect reliably with enemies.

A piercing Rifle shot, for example, can become a way to interrupt several enemies along the same firing line.

Organic

Organic uses Essence damage and adds sustained output.

A direct damage or recovery effect can continue working after the initial impact, spreading part of its value across a short period.

That makes Organic useful for builds that want pressure or recovery to keep working while the player moves on to the next action.

Solar

Solar is tied to Energy damage and delivers strong immediate output with a shorter continuing effect.

It suits aggressive Skills that want a large initial hit and some extra pressure after contact.

Zero Point

Zero Point uses Psychic damage and focuses on disrupting enemies.

Successful hostile hits can slow the target and reduce its chance to hit for a short time.

That gives Zero Point a clear place in builds built around battlefield control, ranged safety or protecting nearby allies.

Fission

Fission uses Concussive damage and adds Knockdown.

A Skill powered by Fission can hit hard and put enemies on the ground, giving the Character a short opening to reposition, attack or control the rest of the group.

One Skill changed by different Power Core choices

The interesting part comes from combining these effects with the Skills already attached to your Artefacts.

A fast projectile can become a control tool.

A heavy hit can gain an extra Knockdown.

A recovery Skill can pick up sustained output through Organic.

A ranged build can use Zero Point to make enemies less dangerous while keeping them at distance.

A Character build combining several Power Core families

Each Artefact can carry its own Power Core, so the whole Character does not have to follow one Power type.

Your Weapon might use Fission for heavy crowd control while your Offhand uses Organic to support recovery. Another build might spread Zero Point across several fast Skills to keep enemies disrupted throughout a fight.

Power Core choices also connect into their own Talent Trees and long-term progression.

The Artefact gives you the Skill.

The Power Core changes what happens when you use it.
